We hope that everybody has enjoyed a wonderful summer break. As the new term approaches we would like to remind our parents and carers that our new term begins on Wednesday 6th September. We look forward to welcoming you all back during this first week.
Wishing all of our parents, carers and children a lovely, relaxing (and hopefully sunny!) Easter break. Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to our final term when we return from the break.
We would like to say a BIG thank you to everybody that came along to our ‘Gift of Gorgeous Pamper Evening’ last week. The village hall looked amazing and the goodies and treatments on offer were fantastic. As always, a huge amount of effort was made by our dedicated playgroup committee who worked so hard to make this a wonderful evening.
We are very excited about our upcoming fundraising event…our exclusive ‘Gift of Gorgeous Pamper Fayre’. There will be a lovely collection of fabulous craft stalls at the event, along with the opportunity for a little beauty indulgence. There are some fantastic local people on board and it is set to be a wonderful evening. Tickets are available from Beaminster Playgroup or by contacting us by email.
It’s been a busy few weeks at Playgroup…we have been celebrating Chinese New Year-lots of activities including making dragons, lanterns, writing Chinese numbers, painting roosters (with forks!) and eating Chinese food (with chopsticks!). The children have loved exploring this different culture. At pre-school we have been learning about the weather, exploring something different each week- highlights include mixing colours in the rain using chalks & brooms, making things fly with our super fan, trying to free a colony of penguins that were frozen in ice and of course a huge array of art & craft activities. We have been very busy learners!
We would like to thank our parents, carers and friends of the Playgroup for your support over the past term. We wish you all a lovely Christmas and a restful break. We will return on Tuesday 3rd January and look forward to seeing everybody then. Merry Christmas!!
The tree is up, the glitter is out and the sound of Jingle Bells can be heard in every corner of the playgroup! We have been very busy making our Christmas cakes, decorating the tree and creating some wonderful decorations of our own to take home at the end of term. We are looking forward to our Christmas parties next week when we hope a special person will be paying us a visit….
We are celebrating ‘National Book Week’ this week by running the theme of the Gruffalo throughout our playgroup sessions. We have been making play dough characters from the story, colouring /painting Gruffalos and we have even made a Gruffalo crumble which was very tasty. During our pre-school sessions we are exploring the classic tale ‘The Three Little Pigs’ through art and maths activities, making houses from bricks, straw, twigs and lego and by building giant houses from the story and then using these to act out the tale. We will also have a representative from Usborne Books with us on Thursday 3rd November from 11am and parents are welcome to come into playgroup to browse the selection of books on offer and perhaps pick up a few early Christmas gifts.
A reminder to all parents and carers that next week, 24th to 28th October, is half term and we will therefore be closed. Also, Monday 31st October is an inset day so there will be no toddler group or pre-school this day. We will be open again on Tuesday 1st November and look forward to seeing you all then.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who donated cakes for our cake sale on 7th October and of course to all those who came a bought some goodies to take home. We raised an amazing £111.20!! Thank you all so much.
